Summer 09

This has been such a great summer for me and for Skellig.  Gigs most weekends, meeting many grateful listeners and gifted fellow musicians.  Thanks to organizers of events like the 25th Anniversary Islands Folk Fest, Ladysmith Days and Live Rust at the Saltair Pub - and to venues like the Dinghy Dock Pub and the Dancing Bean Cafe. 

Our next show will be a joint 2-night show with Lena Birtwistle and Sid Johnson (aka "The Adamantines" http://www.myspace.com/adamantines) on Oct 2 & 3rd at In the Beantime Cafe in Ladysmith (http://inthebeantimecafe.foodpages.ca/).  Tickets are $10 or $25 including dinner - a portion of the proceeds will go to the Powers family.  Dinner is at 6pm, show starts at 7.  Both bands will be playing both nights ... bring a different friend each night!

We'll be cutting back on the gigs through the winter and focusing on writing.  Chris, Lisa and Steve have written most of Skellig's original songs to date, with Will, Caleb and I helping to fine-tune.  I think having the 6 of us start with a clean slate will produce some exciting music.  Guess we'll all just have to wait and see!
