Hello everyone,
Well, our CD release party is about to take place this Saturday at the Crofton Hotel Pub in Crofton. We will be kicking off the evening at 7pm. We pre-sold lots of albums……..but there are some more left for those who haven’t yet purchased this phenomenal musical offering! I am actually not joking when I say it is the best thing we have ever produced. Thanks to Will O’Shaughnessey, (who is a technological genius), Zak Cohen at the Wood shop Studio in Duncan, Brad Blackwood/ Euphonic Mastering in Nashville, it is awesome! Best of all it can now be downloaded directly via ‘BANDCAMP’, from our website using ‘PayPal’:       click on the CD and you will be directed to:
Wow, what a journey the last few weeks have been. Thanks to all of you who came along for the ride, voted, wished us well……you know who you are! We went to Toronto for the ‘Hard Rock Rising’ competition, won, went to Toronto again, came in the top 3 out of 400 bands nationally, we did our best  to play with Bruce Springsteen in London, got pipped to the post by another very good band called ‘Be Astronaut’. Would have been a pleasure to play with ‘The Boss’, especially as he is such an advocate against homelessness and makes regular donations to the food bank organizations, something we are really passionate about as a band too. But it wasn’t to be this time. So we made a video singing our song ‘Stuff’, about all the crap we surround ourselves with, (me included) when we should make do with a lot less (I am preaching to myself here mostly!) next to ‘the Occupod’ in Dundas square, Toronto, for our good friend, John Erb, author, who works with ‘Occupy Toronto’ and sleeps in the Occupod, to bring attention to that same issue:
Lots of travelling, too much pizza and burgers and a lot lighter in the pocket, but very amped, we travelled to Vancouver to play downtown Friday night for St Paddy’s, Celtic Festival, which was awesome and back to play Saturday night at our home pub the ‘Crow and Gate’. Met a lot of people, gained some weight and lost a bass guitar, stolen out of our truck in Granville Street. If anyone sees a silver Jazz Fender Bass going cheap, let us know…. Home again, home again jig eddy jig.
So come and join us Saturday night, when we will be joined by our friends from ‘Tuber’ and ‘Luv Train’ who are both fantastic local Island bands and, hopefully, some other full bands for the ‘Open Mic’. We’ll be back on 7th April at the Willow Street Café, Chemainus for the next ‘acoustic open mic’
Love to you all
Big Lis and all the Skellites
